Its beautiful, and the image it projects is large, focused, and also intensly beautiful. My one year old enjoys looking at the stars when I use it. It comes from Japan, however, which was a surprise to me. I incurred a foreign transaction fee from my bank (very small), but it arrived on time. It uses a disk containing the images of the stars then projects through the disk using an intense light beam focused through some optics. It is much better than the plastic with holes in it variety, and will last longer. However, I'm not sure what will happen when the bulb burns out since its both buried in the device, and the device itself came from japan. Finding and …read full review

This is a wonderful, beautifully designed and well-crafted product. It is simple to operate, quiet, and east to use. The star fields are very high resolution once you get them focused. A very dark room is critical. The only thing I find myself wishing for is automatic rotation, which is available in the more expensive Pro model. …read full review

Segatoys' HomeStar Pure Home Planetarium is as close to a perfect product as I've ever purchased. It is bright, clear, and durable. Attractive, will made, technically accurate (as accurate as you can hope for for $100). Let me illustrate with an anecdote. My wife saw it in the flesh and said, "Helen (our 9 year old) wanted this especially for leaving on as she goes to sleep. Don't you think it was foolish to buy a battery powered unit instead of one that plugs in? The batteries will go dead!" Guess what? It has a timer that shuts it off after a while (30-60 min.--I haven't timed it.). Switch it off and on, and it comes right back on. Helen's used it every …read full review

Simple pleasures are best ones. Who has not ever enjoyed by staring at the stars? Nowaways it is difficult for many of us: no time for such a wasting of time, living in cities with too much artificial light... With this item you will get it night by night in your own bedroom! After few minutes looking at the ceiling, you will think that that starry sky is real. And it is yours and only for you! A good stage for your dreams. …read full review

I bought this Homestar Pure as a present for my partner's birthday. The fast shipping was amazing and the product itself even beats my expectations as I first was afraid it could only display a squaremeter but it covers the whole ceiling of a 2.80x3m room and creates in fact a wonderful nightsky. By using the small wheel you can change the View and you can focus the picture. This Planetarium is a great invention and all who have seen it until now have been stunned and told me they had never seen something similar before. The design is great and even jiststanding around it looks nice. As it works with batteries you can carry it around and place it wherever yo …read full review

I have the HomeStar 21st Century Home Planetarium... despite that, I still got this one, I personally like the looks of this one better, I got the white one. I'm planning to give the other one to my brother. Since this runs on battery, you can say it's wireless! (The other one, sometimes searching for a empty plugin was a hassle, also plug and unplug to put it away) The HomeStar Pure, I can just carry around. Too bad there's no shooting star in this one though, still I recommended to buy this one! …read full review

Have the entire visible solar system at your fingertips in the comfort of your "warm and cozy" living room. These little guys are simply amazing. Great for kids. You turn off the lights and your entire ceiling turns into a Planetarium. IMO, Adults should buckle down and get the PRO. Pay the extra 50-80 for a moving star field, otherwise your fumbling in the dark find the emitter for a manual turn. Didn't have that much money so I bought mine off ebay. If your a beginner Astronomy buff, GET THIS PLANETARIUM! …read full review
