Are you living in an appartment or don't have the space to put a home theater but wants to enjoy the magic that is DD 5.1? Then this is for you. I was expecting a lot when I placed my order and boy did it delivered. The first test I ran was with the THX Optomizer found on so many DVDs. Of course the test itself doesn't need to be done but I wanted to see if I could hear a difference when the speaker would change from back to front, center, etc. And to my amazement, I was able to tell sounds from the back, from the sides and from the front. Then time to try movies. First movie was The Matrix. I've seen this movie more time than I can remember but those hea …read full review

I purchased the SE-DIR2000C headphones as a replacement for an older wireless surround headphone system (Sony DS5100). I can say that the Pioneer system is a great improvement over my previous system, providing greater image localization (with its superior Dolby Headphone technology), better high-end frequency response (which settles in after about 100 hours of burn-in--somewhat tinny to begin with), better and more controlled bass response (very precise, not muffled), more input channels (including coaxial digital, optical digital. and analog stereo), more settable options (try Dolby Headphone setting 2 with no bass assist), and infrared control (which is u …read full review

I am a film buff and a purist , vieing all my films on DVD in a darkened room on a giant screen. I enjoyed the Dolby and DTS, but it was bugging my wife and neghbours. So I was very diffident when I opted for the PioneerSE-DIR2000C headphones. I must say that I am delighted by the almost true DTS/Dolby Digital feel I get. Knowing that there are no 5.1 speakers inside the headphones, I am amazed at the perspective and depth of the sound. Dialogue is clearer too than out of my AV amplifier. Altogether a wonderful experience. A word of acution: the items arrives with Japanese instructions! Though AC customer response was prompt and ever so polite, they coul …read full review

Got these about a month ago, and have been using them almost every day. Here's the key points which I liked and disliked about the unit: +Plenty of inputs (2 optical, 1 digital, 1 analog stereo) +great battery life (used for almost 5 hrs straight) +superb sound -not enough padding surrounding the ears (my ears stick out more than average, but NOT Dumbo status) *headset a but snug, but the light weight makes up for that. I rent a room from a family, and I use my headphones to play games like Halo3, watch DVDs, watch downloaded videos (Anime), listen to music... haven't had any interference problems yet, but there is a large mirror making up one of my …read full review

First of all let me explain that I am partially deaf. I am unable to go to movies because I can't hear the dialogue let alone the surround sound. Without these headphones, I cannot watch TV unless I turn up the sound all the way. My wife hates this as her hearing is fine. I had Sony headphones for about five years but they tended to short out or lose sound when I moved my head even slightly. These headphones are so good that I can hear even the minutest of sounds. The other night I was watching a movie when a cell phone rang in the background. I heard it and thought it was my cell phone. It wasn't until I paused the playback that I realized the sound was com …read full review

Previous SE-DIR1000C owner. Been very happy with that unit for the last 3 years or so. In fact, my wife was the one asking for another set of wireless headphones so that we can watch movies together without waking our almost 2-year old who goes to bed around 8pm every evening. The SE-DIR2000C is a great unit. It's sleeker and more solid feeling than the DIR1000C. The headphones also make less mechanical noise when moving your head around. They seem to "grip" your head more securely without being uncomfortable. The charging is now handled via a cradle mechanism, which means that the headphones must be placed on the hanger as pictured to charge. A nice touc …read full review

This is the best one. I ordered via Internet , afterwards I received parcel, less than 1 week. Very fast and safe(including overseas transformer ). It's amazing that sound effect is quite excellent! Very clear and pure. Especially for 5.1 surround effect! ( when I saw the movie) , This headphone makes me happy and excited. I tested both DTS and Dolby digital formats, excellent. BTW my sound card is new Auzen X-Meridian 7.1 PCI add on card with SPDIF interface. I like it very much. …read full review

Whew.....I have my sanity back. I have been looking at these headphones now for quite some time and a couple of weekends ago I had reached my breaking point. I live in a condo therefore space is limited and I share walls with my neighbors. I work on my laptop in the dining room and conduct business from here. A couple of weekends ago my 8 year old was playing XBOX at an obscene level of noise when I received a call from a client. I asked him too many times to turn it down, turn it down more, just a little more son, I am still on the phone. Finally I had to stop, breathe and head to audiocubes to purchase the headset I have been wanting forever now. I love …read full review

I needed these because I like to stay up and watch movies and sports after my wife and baby are asleep. This setup provides great 5.1 sound. In fact, they sound better than my system. I had to adjust the equalizer on my TurtleBeach software to get the base I wanted, but other than that it sounds great!. AudioCubes got these to me in the States in only a few days, and their customer service thus far has been exceptional. The only issue I have had is every now and then when I put the headphones on I won't get sound. I can usually either turn the unit of and back on to get sound, or if that doesn't work I can initiate a test on my TurtleBeach setup. This may be …read full review

Hello to all, The 12/2/05 I placed the order and I received the 12/10/05. Superb. The first thing that I saw is that they added free on the adapter the current in Spain, perfect. The earphones take an adapter than he is useful for charging them when getting it over the emitter also. The first proof that I did was to put the film of Tarantino's "Open still dawn" and the result was incredible, clarity of sound, loud basses and the perfect effects from left to right and behind they adapt to perfection in my hand and that proves to be very opportune comes from with a digital optical cable 1'5. The one thing that fact in lack is a manual in English ( he comes on …read full review

I've recently buyed this beautiful headphones and I'm feeling very satisfied. Audiocubes also includes for free into the professionaly packed shipping box an useful voltage transformer. That's a 30$ value gift! I've already owned before a very expensive (500 euro) Sony Mdr-ds5100 wireless surround headphone but these Pioneer's are much better than those! Instead of the Sony's the transmission between the beautiful black polished unit and the very comfortable headphones it's absolutely without hiss! I've tested them with both the dts and the dolby digital versions of "Blade Trinity" dvd and the surround sound it's terrific, just like into a real movie theater …read full review
