I bought my pair a month ago and I like them a lot, these Denons. They are delicate, fragile and attractive to look at, and I gladly wear them in public without feeling embarrassed. They are not screaming for attention with blinking diodes or weird design, but instead exude discrete class. They are good and they know it. Super comfortable to wear with soft leather pads and a soft leather headband. No clamping on the ears and very lightweight. Perfect. Sound: I don’t have a high-end sound system but instead settle for my computer’s Creative X-Fi Elite Pro with EAX, crystallizer and equalizer. I listen to techno, synthesizer, drum’n’bass, house and classical m …read full review

This headphone is one of the best I've tried, and I've tried a few. It looks cool and the leather is soft on the ears also. The cord is of very high quality copper and the sound is just full and great! It enhances the bass and that is not a bad thing because the midrange, treble and the tweeter is also in good control. Gives very detailed and rich sound. The wooden cups is the selling point here because it gives a natural sound instead of 'canned'. The previous ones I had were Koss Porta Pro and Sennheiser to mention some of the more known ones. But the Denon is just another class. It is much better and you will not regret buying this. The pr …read full review

My 1st time to buy anything through Audiocubes. I am a discerning and critical audiophile. The AH-D5000 headphones sound as good as my $50k newly updated stereo or vice versa. Mcintosh power ampMC352 driving Tannoy 615s biwired, Vincent hybrid SPT100 monoblocks driving TD12 Tannoy Dimensions, biamped and biwired, Vincent CDS6 hybrid CD transport, MIT interconnects,Straightwire Maestro speaker cables, Denon AV4806 preamp stage. In other words, for $529.00 these top of the line Denon headphones sound as good as a $50,000/ sound system. No difference. Extremely pleased with Denon's good build quality and attention to detail and finish. Excellent aesthetically …read full review

Comfort and Construction - First, I think I concur with what Skylab said in that these are the most comfortable cans produced. While I haven't tried a Beyer yet, the 701 ranks up there amongst the most comfortable for me and this feels more so. It is light, doesn't move around much, doesn't squeek, the cups are nice and large, and the pads are very soft. They aren't thick like those of the AKG but more gentle, and the leather is soft and supple (more than the W5000, from memory). The wood looks good, albeit not on par with AT. I think a good way to compare the two is that the AT would be a classic, varnished wood - like fine antique furniture. The Denon's w …read full review
