Yes actually this is the robot in the YouTube video's - sort of. If you watch carefully there are two robots, one that moves and the other doesn't - in fact it is exactly the same as this robot here.
$200 for a fully animated Tachikoma? try at least $2,000 maybe a lot more ($30,000). That robot is a prototype and a one off, the guy showing it off is the builder, I don't even speak Japanese so I cant tell you the details. Hey I so wanted it to.

At $200, I have to warn people away from this purchase.
I initially expected this to be the famous moving Tachikoma, because the English-language sites often had the moving YouTube video along with the announcement that Audiocubes would be selling it. However, my disappointment was extreme once I received the Tachikoma. It does not move, and the software is disappointing. It just allows the tachikoma to act as a speaker for the computer, as well as flash some lights on its driver compartment and move its center eye up and down. Had I known all of these facts, I would not have made this purchase.
However, it is a well-built toy, with a good range of mot …read full review

I eventually got the software working (curse u Vista), just be aware that the model does not actually walk as some pages claimed. He talks, can be used as a speaker, lights up, and comes with One mini game. As far as movement goes thats about it, besides an eye that moves up and down. …read full review

I was able to install the software with no problem by clicking the 電脳超合金タチコマ.msi file. I was under the impression that this robot moved around, but apparently all it does is blink its lights at me and move the center eye up and down. …read full review

ummm....so while I normally have no issue with Japanese products (as most come with nice English instruction), the Tachikoma is a bit tricky. The robot itself is nice and heavy, feels sturdy, and is well made, plus its extreemly cute. Unfortunately while Windows sees the Tachikoma and installed the drivers for it no problem, I am unable to install the software which came with the Tachikoma. Love this guy, now to get him working, the first person to write a tutorial on how to install this bad boy and really get him up and going will be my hero. …read full review
