The quality of these headphones is great. The Headphones are nice and light although they are really big. The sound is nice and smooth. In my opinion the Audio Technica's is a real bargain. …read full review

I've been reasonably happy with my Sony MDR-F1 open air headphones until recently the headpeace mechanism has faltered a bit. For closed headphones I've bought from Audio Cubes Audio-Technica ATH-A900 Art Headphones, which I found impressive for their price, so thought I'd give Audio-Technica open air a chance as well. Must say, am satisfied with my choice. Highs, lows, different music styles (jazz, classic, pop), AD700 handles them all great to my liking. But overall build quality, the sturdiness, is what really pleases me, after my Sonys got tattered so quickly. Also, even though AD700s are quite big headphones, they still are the easiest to hold compa …read full review

These are exceptional for sound quality and clarity. Very precise imaging when combined with an X-FI sould card (for games). Well suited for most music types, especially acoustic (through Yamaha receiver). Driven well with an I-Pod nano (3G) also. Extremely comfortable. Open design unfortunately lets external noise (nagging) through too well, but can be easily overcome with volume :-) …read full review

After reading reviews about how great the ATH-AD700 are I though I'd treat myself to a pair of these headphone. These sound fanatastic, they don't disappoint. Also I cannot fault Audiocubes my headphones were very well packages and I got them in 3 days (I live in Australia). Pros: - The metalic beige and purple with the gold Audio Technica looks awesome, the image doesn't do the ATH-AD700 justice. - The soundstage is always crisp and clear, great highs and overall range. - These headphones, as bulky as they look the ATH-AD700 are very comfy and light. The pads around the ear piece is very soft and is brilliant for hours of listening. - And again they …read full review

I needed a pair of headphones for home listening, mainly through my computer's USB DAC. Prior to buying these, I bought 5 different headphones, each in a similar price bracket to these. However, I wasn’t happy with any of them, and I was convinced I would have to upgrade my budget to get the sound I was craving. As a last resort, I came across these and fell in love with design, so decided to take a final spin of the dice on these. Well, what can I say? I guess I didn’t have to upgrade my budget to obtain the sound I wanted. The headphones fit perfectly on my head and provide some of the nicest sound I have heard (including speakers). They do just about …read full review

This is a pair of nice headphones - the best that I have owned so far. However, this is also the first audiophile-grade headphone that I have used so I have limited experience when making comparisons. Nevertheless I will try to convey my own experience with the ATH-AD700. First impression of the headphones when it first arrived was the size is somewhat bigger than I expected, and looks rather cumbersome too. But, putting the headphone on quickly changed my opinions. The build quality is top notch and well-engineered. The fit is perfect and very comfortable, due to its 3D wing design and feels very light despite its size. The covers over the ears are made …read full review

These are some of the biggest headphones I have used and are extremely comfortable to wear, although I would have liked to try them out with leather pads in addition to velour. The response is fairly even across the frequency spectrum with no too much emphasis on any particular aspect, so bass-heads probably won’t like this one. It sounds great for classical music, jazz, vocals and general all round listening. The soundstage (which is entirely a personal impression) is excellent and I can recommend these for all kinds of games including first-person shooters, for which they excel. Be aware that these are not closed ear headphones and sounds do go out through …read full review

These are not designed for portable listening. These headphones are rather large and are open-air so people around you can hear the treble portion of your music and it also allows you to listen to environmental sounds as well. The picture has washed out some of the colour - the grilles are more closer to burgundy in colour than purple and the outer casing is like a beige. They are extremely comfortable, though. The thick velvet pads encase your ear and are supremely soft. The 3D wing system lines of with the contours of your head and there is none of this clicking adjustment to deal with. It's a very good system, though only time will tell how robust it i …read full review
