Sit in the audience at a live performance. If these headphones don't give you the best quality sound that you have ever heard that is your only recourse. I honestly believed that my previous headphones were high quality. I displayed them proudly and had others try them out to show off the quality. Now I can't remember what they were called or who made them. Buy these headphones. …read full review

We bought these headphones for our computer so my son could play counterstrike and I could listen to music. We have owned them for two years now and they're as comfortable as the day they came out of the packet ,also the sound is still crystal clear. I'm writing now because I'm so impressed. My son is a teenager so these headphones get a real hard time.We went through about four sets of other brand headphones with in six months, with the speakers blowing or just falling apart. These headphones are a quality product. …read full review

First real pair of headphones I've owned. I have had these now for 4 years and they have held up great. the sound quantity is great much better than my cheap 2.1 satellite speakers. They block out external sound almost to a fault, can't hear people walking up to me. they are very comfortable, I'm able to were them fore several hours at a time with no discomfort. …read full review

I can actually wear them! They fit on my head! Woohoo. My previous pair of cans (Koss UR40) was too small, although they didn't press on the ears either. The A500 are quite comfortable, but the "3D wings" can sometimes be irritating. I like to remove them for a while every hour or so. Still much much better than, say, a Senn HD212 that I could barely wear for 2 minutes before my head explodes. The sound is ok, with no part of the spectrum obviously over-emphasized. (I'm not an audiophile.) Sound output from a PC is enough to drive them. The cable looks very nice and solid, but don't touch or move it or else the noise is transmitted directly to your lef …read full review

The ATH-A500s are an excellent headphone; not only do they sound great and are super comfy, they’ll make you look ridiculously good-looking as well. The amount of compliments and numbers I get because of the A-500s is pretty crazy; although I can never hear them the first time round because the A-500s are so good at blocking out external noise! The closed design means that even the annoying passengers that sleep all over you on the train won’t get disturbed, ahhhh. I bought them originally to use as monitors in my home-recording setup but they sound soo good, I’ve ended up using them as everyday, everywhere headphones. I’ve never owned an “expensive” or “q …read full review

This being my first Audio-Technica headset I was please by their total comfort and great audio .Bass response is snappy not too boomy and mids are well staged .Cant say enough about how light they feel and greatly cover the ears but i did find their plastic parts to be somewhat noisy if you move alot , so probably not a good set of cans if you record voices in studio but for editing they're fantastic and for general audio listening .As far as pricing and shipping experience from Audiocubes ...I must say It was the most pleasing experience from an online seller i've ever dealt with .Fast and efficient .7 Days shipping from Japan to Canada is in my book, amazi …read full review

Not a bad pair of cans. They are comfortable and block out sound pretty well. The sound is good but not great. When you put them on, you will notice a distinctive "seashell" sound (like holding a large seashell up to your ears) which interferes a bit with the sound. Still, the large phones are why they block out outside sound so well (which I needed in this particular pair). Still, like I said, a nice pair of cans. …read full review

Terrific comfort and will fit any head size with ease. Bass is very impressive. Great for music, haven't tried gaming yet but I'm sure they're great for that to. Effective noise-cancelling. Took only four days to reach my front door in New Zealand from Osaka, Japan. …read full review

Very comfortable and sound great. These are my first tentative steps into the jungle of audiophilia. One caveat: They are extremely warm when worn for a while (particularly in the summer). I would definitely recommend them to anyone on a slim budget interested in a comfortable pair of great sounding cans. …read full review

The ATH-A500 headphones are only the second pair of headphones I’ve ever owned, and so far the best. These headphones are incredibly comfy and don’t make my ears sore from a few hours wear like my previous pair did. Also, the clarity of sound, intensity of bass and soundstage is amazing. I use these headphones for everyday computer use, which includes a decent volume of FLAC and mp3 audio, movies, online gaming, etc. This was the first item I purchased from AudioCubes, and I was quite impressed by the delivery time; they had this pair to my front door in New Zealand in two days from Osaka. I aim to eventually own a pair of ATH-A900s when I can afford the …read full review

These headphones are excellent! Very comfortable to wear. The sound quality is truly amazing. Everything sounds perfect on these. People are often worried about headphones not having enough bass but let me tell you, the ATH-A500's pump out a ton of bass. The bass hits sound clear, and not too overpowering. I HIGHLY recommend this product. …read full review

The Audio-Technica ATH-A500 are an excellent pair of headphones. I think for the price they're avaialble now ($89 USD), they're one of the best (if not the best) affordable headphones. Some comments which are not mentioned in other reviews: The headphones take a little bit of time to break in; the construction is good -- there's definitely a 'plasticky' feel to it, but I think it should hold up to constant wear and tear; the pads are comfortable, but do get a little hot; finally, one of my favourite aspects of these headphones is the cord -- which is clothed instead of plastic and because of this, it's much more flexible an, it would seem, durable. …read full review

The design is brilliant. The arcing top really makes for a comfortable headset, despite how big and bulky it looks. I wear mine for up to 6 hours at a time with no problem. I'm a hardcore gamer and the noise positioning was better than any gaming headset I've owned before (Siberias, Steelsounds). I only wish they were more noise-cancelling, although it does a decent job as it is. Near-perfect headset for a great price. …read full review

Have been using this headphones for about a month now. It arrived under a week from the time of order from japan, which is pretty decent considering it came from across the globe to the UK. I must admit i am no audiophile, but lately i've been looking for a headphones that would satisfy my gaming and music needs. I needed something that can manage the positioning of footsteps in my games properly while still sounding great for leisure music listening. The soundstage praises from head-fi was enough to convince me to splurge on these babies. This cans are easier to drive than my sennheiser hd201, requiring only half the volume i usually use on my senns …read full review

I have owned the a500 for a few months. They seem to be a best buy for sub $100 price range headphones. The soundstage is excellent and brings movies and games to life. These are pretty good for music but I like listening to my Grado SR80 more for this aspect. The lows, mids, and highs of the a500 are all great - none of them upsets the balance. These are a very comfortable phone, although my ears get a little sweaty after wearing them longer than an hour (not a big deal in my book). If you like big boomy bass, look elsewhere, because these are balanced (like I said before) but there is sufficient bass for movies and games. Rating: 5/5 cubes. …read full review
