An exceptional product "The Entertainer" itself. My thanks for D. Koa the 4th reviewer of this item for a detailed info in converting your own music file to play. The input for speaker is so tight that I didnt able to insert it all the way for few days laters fearing I may break it now it sounds more better. Make sure you buy the Special Edition with Speaker it add more reality to sound. If money can buy happiness to the most of it, this is the one to buy. …read full review

My Grand Pianist arrived today.
After 14 days I was getting ansy but here it is.
Printing up an English translation was helpful.
I have played it for about two hours and have navigated through most of the options.
It certainly lives up to its reputation for quality.
I opted for the Special Edition, and the speaker is certainly superior to the indigenous piano system, but I still question whether it was worth the additional monies.
The system is powerful enough to offer distortion in this small Yamaha unit, so if you have appropriate sound systems at home, perhaps that would save you some monies
The next comment will illustrate my total lack of compute …read full review

We've had the Grand-Pianist for a few weeks now and we love it. I gave it to my husband for his birthday. My husband is an accomplished pianist and has a CD of a competition that he performed in as a young adult. I converted his performance to midi files and then to a fem file and loaded on a SD card and presented both to him. He was just amazed. It played flawlessly. It was as if we were watching him perform the piece. We have the deluxe edition with the additional speaker. The sound is amazing. And it is a very sturdy machine. I can recommend it enough. …read full review

For me Grand Pianist was a total success at Xmas time.
I was worried that it may arrive late, since I was not only celebrating with it my daughter's B-day, our 43rd. wedding anniversary and Xmas but also entertaining my wife's whole family congregating at our home for the Holidays. They came from 3 different continents.
I emailed Audiocubes: I was worried it may not come in on time since I could not trace it.
I promptly received a reassuring email with cc: to Japan's distributor and was pleasantly surprised: It arrived Xmas eve!
My grand-children, who take piano lessons were amazed. One son-in-law who always likes to impress as being up-to-date -which he …read full review

I've owned this Grand Pianist for a couple months now and love it. It's basically a miniature working player piano. It's only drawback is getting more songs to add to its repetoire. After much research on the web, and learning how to translate Japanese websites thru Google (copy website address, paste into Google, hit search...Google brings up the page in Japanese along with a button in brackets that says "trasnlate this page".) Anyhow, I found a Japanese site that has freeware that converts any piano MIDI file into the ".fem" extension file which is the only file format this Sega Grand Pianist can read in order to sync its tiny keys to play the exact notes …read full review

Coundn't resist this cute little piano so I decide to get one. Didn't like it in the beginning when I received it. The mechnical sound from the keyboard is a bit too loud. However, after awhile, I start to like it. The more I listen to it the more I like it. Interesting, but it is because the mechnical sound from the keyboard makes me like it. It makes you feel you are sitting in a bar and listen to a Jazz piano performance. I put a miniture win bottle on the piano. Just to make it right.
It's not just another MP3 player. It's live.
Still the mechnical sound is a bit too loud, but I rather like to have it then none. …read full review

This has been described as an 'expensive adult toy'. While it is expensive, it does not perform like a toy; more like an electronic music delivery system such as an MP3 player. Here's what you have to do to maximize your enjoyment of this music system: immediately patch it to your Bose radio (or similar radio) via the output jack located underneath. You can not only use a remote to adjust the sound levels, but you will get significantly better audio quality. You can also play your MP3 through it via the input jack, although why you would want to, I don't know, unless it was piano files. Be aware that the entire system, booklet and menus are in Japanese. Many …read full review
