About the Artist
Aaron Kraten grew up in Huntington Beach, California and always enjoyed drawing. He would carry around small 100 page sketchbooks which he'd always be drawing in. In 1999 Kraten was working at a thrift store called Stateside. That's where he started experimenting with painting on found objects. Kraten started displaying work at Stateside and sold a great deal of his art off their walls. Soon after, Kraten began submitting his work to galleries and museums in Southern California. Aaron has shown in museums such as the Laguna Art Museum and the Museum of Contemperary Art Los Angeles as well as Galleries including: Gallery 23, Gallery C , Seven Degrees, Subject Matter. Kraten shows about 4 times a year and posts new work on his website often. He has completed over 58 - 100 page sketchbooks and more than 150 paintings. Aaron currently works in the video game industry and paints full time.
